Where I go, I have to pay each time I have them put in. It is sort of pricey ($100) to have them clipped back in. I wish I could show you a picture of what the clips look like b/c they are hard to describe. They are tiny little clamps. It is sort of like back when you used to get highlights pulled through a cap, where they used that instrument to pull the hair through... same idea, but once pulled thru they use a tiny little piece of metal (same match as your hair color) and they clamp it so that your own hair is used to hold in the extension.
I bought two strips (two different lengths) when I ordered mine, and sometimes I use both if I want volume, and sometimes I use just one for length and each time I wear em, I have to go to the salon and they are put in for me but like I said, its $100 each time. They take them out for you for free, it takes about 5 minutes to take them out, and about an hour to put them in.
My opinion, they are worth it b/c they don't damage your real hair at all. That was my fear. For me, they were totally worth the money.

call me crazy but i still don't get why girls waste money on hair extensions, just give your natural hair time to grow out and it'll be gorgeous without all the fake hair.

I feel ya! My hair will not grow past a certain length. Although, I seem to be at the salon touching up my roots so much. The extensions that I have used last as long as 6-8 weeks before I will want to get them tightened. I use sulfate free shampoo (better on the extensions, and better for your real hair) and I am pretty careful when I wash and when I comb my hair after the shower. They say at night you should braid it, or wrap it in a loose bun to keep from it pulling during your sleep, but I never did. So basically, they can last a while as long as your careful washing, sleeping and brushing. I always like them when they are really tight against your scalp which is why I go back after 6-8 weeks to have them tightened which btw is only 20 bucks, so really you can make them last. My stylist tells me she sees some of her clients go up to maybe 4-5 months without coming in for a touch up.
I chose the route I went w/ my extensions b/c they are a one time purchase. Once you buy the hair its yours and it is never ruined. There is no damage to your natural hair what so ever, and the only costs you will have to maintain is the amount of times you want to put your extensions. O, and the first time you put them in (after you purchase the hair) its free *where I go.
The human hair I think all comes from the same place, temples in India and you can cut it, color it, curl it, straighten it, anything you want.
I've also heard of taking pre-natal vitamins... That helps your hair, skin and nails (at least that is what my prego friends tell me)

If you take care of them, (spend all the extra time each morning combing your hair through) its possible. However, on the sides of your head (above your ears) after months or so, sometimes in my opinion, what I do, is use like bobby pins, to pin some hair back b/c I am so nervous that the wind will blow and you will see the strip -the little clips.
Yes, I think you will regret your other choice. I have googled images on bad hair extensions and seen the horror stories, and I would be so embarassed if that were me. Plus if your like me, I don't like people to know that I have the extensions in, so if I were to do something that ruined my hair, after bad extensions, idk, I just would hate that..
But I guess you won't know until you try. I did look at Noel when I was doing research but I ended up going to Mac Med in Milford, b/c it was closer and cheaper. Plus, they do my color there and did a perfect match against my natural hair, and since she has been my hair dresser for a while, she was completely honest with me when she told me they wouldn't damage my real hair, and I am sure she wouldn't do anything that would damage my hair for the sole purpose of making some money. You do get what you pay for.

It is probably only 45 min from Noel. Its not far outside of Boston. They offer everything! Its awesome there. The prices are all different. It depends on how much hair you want to buy. They do free consultations so if you wanted to book an apt they can show you the hair and how it will go in, and what the hair will look like on. I can see how it would be confusing though. I go into Boston just to get my eyebrows done! lol, what we pay for beauty.

I get them done by Mondi at I Soci Salon on Newbury. 3rd floor. Its at the end by Burberry. She plucks by tweezer and makes them look awesome. I have been going to her for 2.5 years lol

I meant to say I get my eyebrows plucked, not my eyelashes if I did say that.
I haven't been able to find a good spray tan anywhere around here. I actually have been to Providence for a spray tan at this hole in the wall place. Where is a good spray tan?
I am so mad though b/c I couldn't make it in to Boston for my eyebrows and I needed them done badly so I made an appt for threading at the Natick Mall at Dellaria and she took off half my eyebrows, so now I have to wait months for them to grow back in, and give me enough hair for Mondi to shape. I should have never have done that.
I don't think that salon on Newbury offers tanning, I've only seen hair there.
